Job Description : Investments Manager

Reporting to the SVP Operations, the Investments Manager provides leadership to the administration of the investment related processes, procedures and policies for clients, Charitable Donor Advised Fund (DAF) Sponsoring Organizations. The Investments Manager leads a team of Investment coordinators.  The Investments Manager maintains an up to date knowledge of investment and financial guidelines and policies for the countries within which Amicus operates and guides all Investment workflows, polices and processes.

  • Provide overall leadership and general management and supervision for the daily operations of the Investments Team

  • Work closely and effectively with the SVP Operations to keep him/her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.

  • Build the Investment Team to include creating job descriptions, hiring and training. Ensure adequate staffing for both Giving Season and other times of year.  Lead onboarding and continuous training and development of new and existing team members to include global teams.

  • Manage daily oversight of the Investments Team ensuring that timely processing of transactions with accuracy. Oversee investments processes to ensure compliant financial handling and adherence to policy.

  • Coordinate with Contributions and Grants Department to confirm and meet daily liquidity requirements.

  • Establish and manage Investments Service Level Agreements with Charitable DAF Sponsor Organizations.

  • Document, implement and oversee procedures designed to ensure compliance with investment policies. Continually assess the efficacy and efficiency of investment policies, procedures and systems, and implement improvements as resources permit. Document policies and procedures and train team to facilitate understanding and compliance.

  • Utilize CRM Case Management system to monitor outstanding client requests and to facilitate reporting.

  • Manage the budget for the Investments Team

  • Craft and maintain an investment program and policies designed to protect the Donor Advised Fund Sponsoring organizations assets. Propose changes as appropriate to the Investment Oversight Committee(s) for approval. Design program and policies to be understood, accepted and followed by each charitable organization’s diverse community of investment advisors and account holders.

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with investment policies.

  • Monitor investment performance and compliance with policies, work with advisors to resolve and remediate performance or compliance issues.

  • Report quarterly to the Investment Oversight Committee on pool performance and compliance.

  • Develop and maintain systems and processes to manage and track private investment activity (purchases, redemptions, gift acceptance, capital calls and distributions, valuation and initial and ongoing due diligence). Support annual financial audit by providing required information, including valuation support, due diligence documentation, liquidity analyses and other information as requested by auditors.

  • Monitor alternative investment performance, regulatory and investor disclosures, fund liquidity, following up with commercial clients as appropriate for ongoing risk mitigation.

  • Report quarterly to the Investment Oversight Committee(s) on alternative investment activity, exposure, strategy mix, liquidity, performance and compliance.

  • Recommend to the Investment Oversight Committee a diverse, robust set of investment pool choices for each Commercial Clients White labeled DAF program. Engage research within the Commercial Client firms, to conduct an annual in-depth review of the Pools offered and underlying funds, to identify the top available funds in each category and to provide investment recommendations. Recommend pool changes as appropriate and implement any changes approved by the Investment Oversight Committee.


Core requirements:

•    5-10+ years of experience in finance or investment management

•    5-10+ years of experience leading teams

•    Expert level investment knowledge required

•    Familiarity with institutional management of charitable assets (UPMIFA) and with donor-advised funds
•    Bachelors Degree
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred skills:

•    CPA and/or knowledge of foreign currency a plus
•    Investment/wealth management professional certification, e.g. - CFA, CIMA, CFP or related advanced degree strongly preferred
•    Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, internal and external

       customers and strategic partners
•    Expert written and verbal communication skills
•    Creative and enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, and results- driven
•    Demonstrated ability to institute and adhere to applicable regulatory, risk management and compliance best practices and
