Job Description : Test Automation Lead

As a Test Automation Lead, you are responsible for developing the automated test framework and building automated testing across the Amicus ELEVATE product stack. This is a key position in a growing team, so your efforts will be critical to the success of both the company and the product. This position will be responsible for developing out test processes for Amicus, growing the Test team with the company, and instilling a culture of quality in the Amicus R&D team.


We are looking for a solid team player with a passion for high quality software, strong command of server-side engineering principles, and methodical problem-solving skills.

The Test Automation Lead is responsible for automated, build-integrated test definition across a React-based web front end, a React Native mobile application, and a financial-grade microservices backend hosted at AWS.


  • Lead test strategy to expand our existing test automation framework


  • Develop new tests and tools for our React frontend, backend APIs and services, and low-level systems like geo replication, CI/CD, and load balancing.


  • Work with the product team and other development teams to understand how new features should be tested, and then engage them in contributing automated tests


  • Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability and maintainability. You should know about clean code, the test pyramid and champion these concepts.


  • Analyze complex software systems and collaborate with others to improve the overall design, testability and quality.


  • Ensure that automated tests execute reliably and efficiently in CI/CD environments.


  • Ensure test results are tracked and communicated in a timely and effective manner

  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

  • Strong experience developing in Python, including Python asynchronous programming

  • Strong experience using Jenkins in context of test integration into Continuous Build/ Continuous Integration systems

  • Experience with test automation tools like Capybara, Selenium

  • Experience with front end automation test tools like Testim

  • Relevant work experience in software development and/or test automation

  • Experience with AWS or Kubernetes

  • Experience with JIRA / Confluence for issue management / documentation​

  • Experience with Tornado application testing preferred
